I'm thrilled to post here the image, which is more than 20 years old !?!
Actually my agent recently returned all my slides, as they have no place now in the modern libraries. He told me that many photographers want their old work to be destroyed, but I didn't have a heart to do that, instead I paid him the return cost & got my pictures back. There were few images, which were very close to my heart, so I decided to get them drum scanned n here's the result for you to see.
When I encountered this scene, I had 70-200 mm lens in my hand, so I shot this at 70mm. A friend, who was with me at that point, purchased a Linhoff panoramic camera to shoot this kind of scene. He kept that camera in his bag for about 8 years, but things never repeated.
Thankyou so much for your kind attention & views !

11 commentsThis is cool. While I normally don't like seeing the "hand of man" in wildlife shots, in this case I think it works...and it makes it appear that the elephants are intentionally blocking the road (and for all I know, perhaps they were!). For me the mix of sizes and age classes adds a lot to this shot.
When I look at the detail view of this shot on a standard resolution monitor (100 ppi) it looks a tad over-sharpened. As is normally the case, when the detail view of the shot is viewed on a HD monitor (e.g., retina) that "over-sharpened look" goes away. I normally find it best to sharpen for standard resolution monitors (they are still in the majority of the viewing public) and then they look good on ALL monitors...
Nice to see that the "oldies" still are "goodies"!
Cheers...
