Gull in Flight
by Dennis Plank
I photographed this gull against a blue sky in mid-June while shooting Eagles on Hood Canal. While I liked the wing position of the gull, it just didn't seem to have much punch against he blue sky. On the evening of July 6th we has some really cool cloud formations just before sunset and I photographed them just for their own sake. A couple of days later, it occurred to me that it might work to combine the two images. Here's the result.
Gull taken with a 7D2 and Sigma 150-600 mm Contemporary lens and sky taken with a 5D3 and 70-200 mm F/4 L @ 70 mm. Both were combined at full size.
Comments and criticisms are most welcome.
Thanks,
