Halloween Pennant (f) #1

Gallery: Macro & Close-upPosted July 22, 2016276 views7 comments

I found this very cooperative female Halloween Pennant (Celithemis eponina ) in the open field next door. At least I think it's a female, and not a teneral male. (7D2, 180mm macro + 1.4TC, f/8, 1/4s, iso 800, tripod)

Jim, it seems my fingers did the stumbling. The ss was 1/400, not 1/4s.

Hey Mark,
The placement of the subject and the perch in this composition are outstanding. The colors are wonderful and the background could not be better.
Well done . . . devil

Hi Mark,

Great shot at 1/4 sec exposure. You took advantage of the split second opportunity to snag this one. The 180 and 1.4 TC worked very well in capturing the scene devil

Simple Green and yellow Mark. I love it. Nice details and colors especially in the larger version. The eye is fascinating.
