Common Yellowthroat

Found this yellow-throat in my local park this morning.  The construction work that went on before they restored the wetlands left some bare areas where this thistle has taken over.  It is a sea of yellow now.  While not a desired landscape the sparrows and the yellow-throats seem to be enjoying it.  It was difficult to capture the bird in amongst the bright yellow flowers.  I have checked the exposure on my monitor and it seems fine.

Nikon D810, 300 2.8 with 1.4 tc. ISO 320, f5, 1.2500. HH

Thanks for looking and as always critiques appreciated.

I love the pose you captured, May. The yellow background and yellow flower compliment this Yellowthroat perfectly. Great job.

I really like the bight colors in the image and how it mirrors that of the yellowthroat. Very well composed and the stalk makes a very photogenic perch.

A nice pose, May, and a lovely color palette. The thistle may not be a desirable species but it sure presents a nice perch and a sweet background. The shot shows the feather wear on the bird. Fine work.

Another very nice Yellowthroat, May.  I like the nice alert pose and you nailed the dof with both the bird and perch in great focus with that nice smooth bg.

The colors in the server very nice especially the background. I do find that the belly of the bird is a little bright on my monitor. You might be able to selectively darken the belly by half a stop using one of the Nik products, Vivenza.  But it's a matter of taste and I think that the current images also fine.  The exposure appears to have been somewhat difficult.
