American Oystercatcher

This might not be everyone's cup of tea (my wife called it a butt shot), but I like the way the bird is looking at the rock and I like the zen feeling of the rock in the photo. Taken a couple of months ago in Cape May, my first birding trip east of the Rockies.  A lot of new life birds!

Thanks for looking.  Comments and suggestions appreciated.

It is a cool shot, Allen.  Cape May must have been a blast.  I've never been there, but it's legendary.  You might think about cropping from the bottom to get rid of most/all of the oof foreground.  The way the bird is looking at the rock does indeed make this image.  Nicely seen.

A different perspective, Allen, but I like it. I agree with Dennis, removing some of the OOF foreground may help the composition a bit. Well done as posted!

I think with these guys, if yo show the eye and the bill, the rest of the composition takes care of itself.
