I took this image on Nate Chappell's Ecuador photo tour at Sachatamia Lodge earlier this year.  Lots of hummingbirds and many multi-flash opportunities.  We had a great time!

Hi Joseph
The Muli-flash makes the photograph.  Nice work, I know how hard it is to photograph Hummingbirds.

An impressive image from a technical standpoint.  I tried for a long time to figure out hoe to do this and then realized I had a defective flash unit.  I do my hummingbird images with a single fill flash.  Yes, there is a huge difference.   But I can appreciate the effort that goes into both. Well done.

Joseph: what a fabulous capture. My only minor suggestion would be to clone out the three small leaf tips  on either side of the flower. Richard

Welcome to NPN and the Avian Gallery, Joseph.  Definitely a lovely first post with excellent detail and a lovely composition.  If this is an artificial bg, Nate needs to get something with a bit more texture to it.  That's the only think I find artificial looking about the image.  Beautiful wing position.  I look forward to seeing a lot more of your work.

Welcome to NPN Joseph. Nice first post, looks like you had some fun with Nate's workshop! I like this a lot. However, not sure I would leave in the leaves dropping from the top of the frame. I don't think they add a lot to the overall image and would be tempted to clone them out.
