Lake Neuchatel, Switzerland
D810     300mm  f2.8  G ED VR2
f/9.0    ISO 640   1/1600s   EV  0.7   WBA     Hand held
Photoshop CS6   Roughly 12% of full frame

I set out over the weekend with the intention of taking dynamic shots of Common Terns on Lake Neuchatel only to find that the resident group had disappeared over night. On returning home I spent considerable time ‘salvaging’ this shot that I took last year. It is a massive crop but I’m particularly interested in the unrelated set of parallel ripples that serves to accentuate the impression of high-speed velocity of the bird.

Thanks for viewing
Your crits. and nits are most welcome

Always nice to see the top feathers in a banking turn like this.
Nice detail for a large crop, great pose, and very complimentary BG with the subtle stripes in the water

Detail isn't bad at all for that kind of crop, David.  I agree that the ripples add to the image.  It's a lovely angle for the Tern.
