Aardvark

I was very fortunate to have an opportunity to see one of Africa's most elusive animals, the aardvark, several times during my recent South Africa trip. Better yet, I was able to photograph this female during the day at close range and on foot. It's pretty special to check a "holy grail" species off the list.

What a wonderful sighting, beautifully captured devil

I have only seen an Aardvark once in almost 3 years spent on safari and that was at night!

This is a wonderful image of a very rare creature. I lived 5 years in southern Africa, have made many, many visits to the region since 1972, and I have never been blessed with a sighting of an Aardvark.

It is so unusual that it feels surreal...I keep remembering childhood alphabet books, "A is for aardvark.." Congrats on achieving a difficult bucket list capture!
