A sunset picture that I shot on a wonderfully quiet evening on Lake Superior. The Porcupine Mountains Wilderness Area is in the background which is where I was off to early the next morning.
Canon, 24-105L @60mm, ISO 100, F/20, 1/2 sec. 3 stop hard GND. Large version included for best look. Thanks.

That's a gorgeous sunset with a lovely level cloud sky and a wonderful gleam off the wet rocks from reflected sky light.

Beautiful sunset and great reflections on the rocks and water. The shutter speed was just right for this image. Thanks for you thoughts on my last image posted.

Outstanding Nick.  Love the reflected color on the water and rocks.  Killer sunset.  Small nit would be to clone the bright cloud on the right horizon line as it is a bit of eye grabber in an otherwise perfect image.

Gary, Yes, I almost did that before posting this and probably should have. Thanks, Nick

Wow, I can really feel how special this evening was for you. Just a gorgeous image with lovely reflections and colors. The wet rocks in the foreground add a lot of interest and I like the sun column too!

Gorgeous sunset, Nick. Reflections on the foreground rocks work well to pull the composition together. Agree with Gary on cloning out that one bright spot in the upper right.

Bright cloud just above the horizon on right edge cloned out as suggested. Probably should have done that right off. Thanks for all of your comments. Nick

Interesting combination of red and grey in the foreground water.  You chose a simple, but effective composition.  This definitely conveys the peaceful feeling of this moment.

As I was scrolling down, I noticed a nice abstract formed by the lower half of the frame.  Did you think to shoot any abstracts with the play of light in the foreground?

The repost is spot on, Nick. This looks like the perfect way to end the day to me with that gorgeous warm color in the sky and the sound of the waves lapping the shoreline. Great image.

Nick, this is definitely a winner for me! Your choice of shutter speed makes for a most interesting interplay of water and rocks in the foreground.

Just before reading Brian's comment, I also had the idea of cropping the upper part, leaving only the delicate reflection on the water surface at the top.

A very rich image, Nick, well done. Love the composition, the tones and textures along the shoreline at LL. Silhouette background provides a good balance to the FG rocks.

Hi Nick,

tHE PEACEFUL MOOD THIS IMAGE EXUDES IS VERY NICE. I really enjoy how the light reflects off the saturated rocks, how it reflects in the water, and the beautiful clouds up top with some sweet color.

It must have been such a nice night to be alive. cool
