First sign of summer

The first sign of summer is usually when the toads start chirping and mating.  This one is sitting on the remains of cattails from last winter.

Canon 1D, 300 2.8, ISO 250, 1/200 @ f8.

A very neat image of the toad, Jerry.  I like the little red spot on the air sac.  Looks like it's been a busy toad with all those eggs already lying around.

Talk about singing your heart out...  A fine catch with the throat pouch fully extended.  The toad stands out cleanly and the blue water foreground plus reflection help emphasize the toad.  The perch and the underwater vegetation show nicely where toads hang out as they sing.

Excellent perspective to see the air sac.
The bit of reflection adds a lot.
Congrats on the WP!
