This is a photo of a Himba mother and her son as they warmed themselves by the morning fire. I like the contrast between the mother's traditional garb and the western garb of the son. I also liked the gesture of the mother. Olympus E-M1, 40-150 lens, f/4, 1/250 and ISO 640. Cropped to about 75% of the original. C&C welcome. Richard

Richard, I am drawn to this photo because of the interesting way the mother and child are shown totally absorbed in their own thoughts yet physically connected through their close proximity to one another.  I also like the rich skin tone of the mother against the more muted background and the inclusion of the cooking utensils that add interest to the foreground.

Striking image. Especially like the skin tones, natural implements, and the clothing representing Native and modern.
Fine work!

Interesting travel photography and a fine portrait of their lives. Will have to move it to POP as it doesn't fit the criteria of man and nature however.

Kah: not sure what happened, but this was originally posted in POP and moved here for some reason. Richard
