Great Horned Owl

I had some nice luck with owls in eastern Idaho over Memorial Day Weekend, seeing as many as 19 in a day.  Among the species was the great horned.  We found a couple different families with fledging owlets.  I liked the open perch amidst the green setting for this adult.

Wow, doesn't get much better than this. The green background is really nice. Well done.

Really neat to find this one out in the clear like that, Max.  Nice detail and the greenery is dense enough to prevent the bright sky from being an issue.  Nicely done.

The green BG really makes this work, with the owl standing out boldly against it. My luck, I would be on the other side, looking through the greenery, trying to find it!cheekydevil

Excellent look at this owl, Max. Nice detail and the foliage in that tree frames the owl perfectly. This image really interests me, it really displays how much lighter and gray colored the western Great Horned Owls are compared to the Eastern birds I am used to seeing. Really nice image.

Max: I really like the contrast of the tones of the bird versus its surroundings. It's a standout image in all respects. Richard
