Austral Pygmy Owl

The first pygmy owl species I ever saw was an Austral pygmy owl, found in Patagonia.  I was happy to get back down there earlier this year and nail some better pictures of this little fellow.  This one was perched right near the road and stayed put as we hopped out of the car and snapped away.

Very nice.  A cooperative little guy wasn't he.  Sweet frame.

Great look at this little owl, Max. Great light and you did a great job with the composition. The background really compliments the owl well. Superb image.

Nice comp on this Max. Congrats on the find as well. I've never seen any type of Pygmy owl. Hope I don't have to travel all the way to Patagonia just to see one (unless it's Patagonia, AZ).

Max,
What a delightful image, our small owls are called owlets and I have been fortunate to see Pear-Spotted Owlet now and again.
I would consider doing something with the OOF branches on the right hand side?
