Bare-Nosed Wombat

One of the many unique critters I saw for the first time in Australia was the bare-nosed wombat.  A cross between a bear and a sausage, wombats are much bulkier than I expected and can move surprisingly fast.

In this case the foreground grass was unfortunate, but I was particularly happy to get an eye-level shot as this fellow emerged through the wall of ferns coming right at me.

A nice "stop" at a relatively low shutter speed.  That was very good capture.

Cool.  I barely noticed the out of focus foreground grass.  The fern draped over his face is an enhancement, except one would wish it did not cut across his eye that tiny bit.  Face on with an unfamiliar species is an accomplishment!

Very cute image Max, nicely done, the paw up and the centered comp work well here. devil

The angle is very engaging here, haven't seen many photos of this chap.
I really like your efforts to photograph as much biodiversity as possible - it's easy to keep focusing on the dramatic stuff...
