Ice with Eagles

This pair of eagles perched on an iceberg that had calved from the Dawes glacier in Alaska. Although they are small in the frame, I liked seeing them in this unusual surrounding. I also liked the colors and textures in the iceberg. Cropped to about 2/3 of original. Nikon D4s, 80-400 lens at 1/800, f/8 and ISO 1100. C&C welcome. Richard

A cool birdscape, Richard.  Not sure whether it's more suited here or in landscape, but I like it either way.  The glacial blues are gorgeous and the two Eagles add an interesting accent.  Well done.

Not only a cool birdscape,  but a very cool landscape.  Love the color and texture in the iceberg, the eagles are certainly a bonus. Very well done.

What's amazing is that the iceberg itself somewhat resembles a hunched eagle :) lovely image!

Pretty dramatic. I love the eagles and the shapes and color of the ice. My only nit is the dark shoreline peeking out to left of the berg. I also suggest increasing the contrast in the sky just a bit: It looks a little flat. This image gives a fine sense of place.

Beautiful colors and the eagles add interest to the photo. The textures are also great. Nice job. Usually iceberg photos have no sense of scale, but the eagles and the background landscape give it to this one.
