Navajo Layers WC#754

A few months after I got my first DSLR in 2009, I made a trip to Lower Antelope Canyon near Page.   As a first visit and a re-beginning photographer, I had no preconceived scenes or expectations. The solitude was a pleasure as I wandered through by myself.  I may have seen only 6 other people in the canyon that November day.  I wonder how many are ushered through each day now, as I hear many stories of the crowds.

Wow, sounds like a great experience that may be impossible to duplicate today, sadly...  This is a great look at the sculpted layers, Doug, with a fine collection of vertical ridged and horizontal layers of stone.  I'm especially enjoying the subtle color shifts.

Lovely shading and lots of layers in this, Doug.  Beautiful color and form.

This has an amazing 3D look. Wonderful light, textures, and layers of layers in both directions.

This is wonderful with all the curves, color, and shadows.  A fine representation of this sandstone erosion!
Just wondering....most photos I see like this are in slot canyons, where you have to repel way down to get these photos.  Is this a location, that you can drive and walk through?   I am not "into" rock climbing OR heights!frown

Lucy, this is in Lower Antelope Canyon just outside of Page Arizona.  No ropes required, but there are a few metal stairs to descend/ascend.  One just pays and now needs to go with a Navajo tour guide.  It has become quite crowded in recent years.
