A family of giraffes feed on a camelthorn tree in the dry Auob riverbed of the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park in South Africa.
This is one of several of my photos screened at the BioPhoto festival in Budoia, Italy, this past weekend. The theme for this year's contest was "Deserts" and 7 of my images were awarded with commendations.

Techs:
Nikon D800
Nikkor 24-70mm f2.8 @ 44mm
Circular Polariser
f4.0 | 1/250 SS | ISO-250

Nice staggering positions here, Morkel.  Well seen.  I love the subtle blue in that sky too.

Admittedly, I had a hard time seeing what was happening with the second giraffe from the right.  I thought it was wearing a wig for a moment. enlightened

Really unique capture. It's as if they are lining up waiting their turn.

Really nice, Morkel.  I especially appreciate the quality of light and color.  My only nit is a very minor one, that the middle of the background animals is standing in line with the far distant horizon tree, and the head tends to merge a little.  Again, I really like the light here, softly lifting the giraffes from the darker shadowed background.
