3rd image in a series of 4 in seagull vs big fish.
So, here we see Jonathan Livingston Seagull pulling out thr main chest/throat cartilage in order to get to the heart of the matter (so to speak) (literally, actually!). At this point other gulls and huge tern were gathering in a semicircle around me. They were slowly closing in, when JLS looked up, flapped his wings in anger and shrieked several times. Some flew off, a few backed up, the tern moved closer and tried to grab at the fish. I was too excited and scared to move, so the fight was not on camera. JLS  won to finish gutting the fish.

Very cool close-up of this action, Lori.  Nice work.

Nice action capture, Lori. Your photos shows the problems with auto mode. The exposure is spot-on, and the gull is sharp, but the fish is just a little out of focus. In Aperture mode, you could tighten the aperture a bit, have a bit moredepth of field, and get the fish in focus, too.
