Purple Gallinule, Del Ray, Florida

I was really happy to get one of these guys in the clear, as they are usually rooting around in the sea grasses and half-covered.
One of my favorite birds.

Wow, Sandy!  What a nice capture of this beautiful bird. A little tight, but still gorgeous.

I knew this was from Florida!  I think Purple Gallinules are beautiful, and I love it when they are eating those purple flowers.  Wonderful detail on this Gallinule.

Really cool to see this out in the open.  The colors are fantastic.  It's too bad you were so close... the tight composition is my only real nit.

Killer image, Sandy. The tight composition emphasizes the pretzel-like pose. Great detail throughout and lovely light. Not to mention finding one out in the open like this. Exceptionally nice.

Really like this one Sandy. Surprised you got one so out in the open. The purple flowers add a lot of interest to this in my opinion. I like the head position and the sole flower lying on the ground makes this even more special. I do wish you had a tiny bit more room on the left, but it still works fine. Nice work!
