Intimate Dahlia

Close up of whatever those tiny things deep between the petals of some dahlias. Shot wide to give this a soft, semi abstract look. Taken last week at the local public gardens. The dahlias here are still holding on thanks to only one light frost so far this fall. D600, sigma 150 macro f2.8 @ 5.6, 1/400, iso 500. Single image, natural light. Let me know if this works. Suggestions welcome.

A great splash of contrasting colors. And just enough detail to hold the eye.

Scott, first the colors are splendid. Softness, low contrast and the luminosity make them look like pastel colors. The design is also very nice and appears to me like two rainbows joining at the end. Probably for my way of shooting, I am in big trouble about the whole image as I find very difficult to see a dahlia or a small part of it. As an abstract image it is splendid.

Good abstract! I understand where Gigi is coming from. It is beyond me to find a small part and still have a balanced and beautiful pic like this.

Beautiful abstract, Scott!  I love the soft pastel pinks and the tiny POF.

This is just beautiful, Scott. I love the softness, with just enough sharpness at the bottom of the V. The colors are wonderful, and the composition very strong. It almost looks like a bird. Fantastic work.

A real beauty - soft colours, moody and ethereal, and a bit of sharpness to focus on.
Excellent WP - congrats.
