I like to keep my photos "as found" as much as possible, but I'm not a purist. Would like some opinions about the diagonal branch in the BG between the trees. Clone it out? Keep it? Thanks

Lovely colors and comp. I wouldn't have noticed the background branch at all if you hadn't mentioned it. In some ways it ties the two sides of the image together. I like the natural look of this. That's my 2 cents!

Great fall colors, and you've arranged the two groups of trees as a nice frame. The branch doesn't bother me, but I suppose the image would be more "pure" without it. The trees look a little blue; I might reduce that throughout the image.

Gorgeous autumn image, Michael.  The reds of the maples and the blues of the tree trunks set against that palette of greens and yellows works so very well.  The diagonal of that branch you mention is not a problem for me; in fact I feel it helps tie the image together and adds more interest.  I would not touch it.  My only very minor suggestion would be to reduce the brightness of the bits of sky poking through in the upper right hand corner, or add a tint of green or yellow to those areas.  Other than that, an outstanding image.

I like the red and gray combination, Michael, and I like the interesting textures in the tree trunks to go along with the colors. An excellent fall image. I think I'd probably prefer the image without the diagonal branches in the bg, but, had you not asked, I don't think I'd had noticed them as much nor suggested cloning them.

Michael, I enjoy your composition a lot. The diagonal trunk connects the two sides nicely in my opinion and it makes for a certain kind of tension within the composition. Furthermore I appreciate the interplay of the barks and the foliage with all the delicate details.

This turned out beautifully, Mike. The combination of reds and greens compliment each other perfectly. As far as the diagonal branch goes; it does not bother me at all. In fact I think it ties the scene together. My only suggestion would be to clone out that one section of sky in the URC.

Really nice, Michael. That branch doesn't bother me in the slightest. To my eye, it fits in the comp nicely. Love the colors and beautiful image.

I, too, think you're being overly concerned about the branch. It might be a tad better without it but it hardly makes a difference. It's funny how we can be so overcritical about ourselves sometimes. I'm like that too. I think it may have to do with anxiety.
