Frost & Water

In the spirit of Halloween, here's a spider web that was nicely frosted.  The background wads pretty dark to start with, but I added a curves layer to take it the rest of the way.  Unfortunately, I had to look all over the property to find two spider webs that morning.  I think all the rain we've had this fall did them in about a week earlier.

5DIII, EF180 f/3.5L, tripod, live view and cable release, f/16, 1/50, iso 200, aperture priority, pattern metering, -1 EV.  Processed in LR5 & CS6.  Cropped to 11.4 MP to eliminate a gap in the web.  Taken October 12th at 8:35 AM.

Comments and criticisms are always welcome.

Thanks,

Remarkable, Dennis. I've never seen a frozen spider web. Very diamond like in the detail. Nice work on the processing, including the darkened bg.

This is way cool, Dennis (pun intended...).  Love all the tendrils of frost on the web.  A fine change of pace from a dew covered web.  Looks like there was a touch of melting getting started, your timing was great.
