Last fall, I took this photo of a small boulder surrounded by rushing water from the Mistaya River located near the Icefields Parkway, Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada.

Beautiful water opacity and colour.
Moving the boulder off-center would add interest.
The dark frame detracts a bit - a thin, simple one would not compete with the image.
Very nice work!

I very much echo Sandy's comments, Paula.  The water is absolutely gorgeous in every respect, but I would definitely like to see the boulder not so nearly centred.

I really like this image (great water movement and color). Although placing the rock a bit off center might be better, I am not sure the conditions allowed you to do so. It looks like there are other rocks around it, especially to the right and perhaps the rock formation at the top ends on the upper right. If you could have placed the rock elsewhere in the image without compromising the image, it is probably advisable. Perhaps no frame.

Nicely seen and photographed, Paula. I like the look of the water, particularly the texture of the water on the right, the splash below the rock, and the color of the water juxtaposed against the brown rock.

Thank you for your comments to reposition the boulder more off-center!

Very nice, Paula. I prefer the repost, but the original works well too. It might be fine to explore this in B&W, as well.

I agree that the repost is an improvement over the original. If you can tease some more structure out of the rocks I think a b&w may work well also. Nice job.

Paula: I may have shot this same rock on our trip in September! Nice work on the repost. I'm still going through my files so this has spurred my curiosity. Well done.>=))>
