Bison Roundup

On the way back from Zion , Bryce, etc, we went through Salt Lake City. We intended to stop at Antelope Island Refuge to see if there were any birds around. Instead, we found that  the day we visited was the annual bison round-up.
Antelope Island tries to keep the bison herd to about 500, so once a year, they round them all up, to inspect for health issues, vaccinate, and  cull back  to 500. Fun to watch!  Thanks to Mia McP for the good information!

I like that you have included enough area around the bison to give a good idea what the area they are in is like.  Also, nice detail in the bison themselves.  And, the riders add something to the image.  Well done!  Thanks for sharing.

I knew that was Antelope Island when I saw it Sandy. Nice documentation of the roundup here. Good to see that they still have a good herd after the fire took so much of the island this year. Those animals are really intimidating when you are out on foot among them a mile or so from your car.
