Sand Dune Selfie

Alternate title: "Just me and my Shadow." This is an old film image from my first visit to Death Valley in 2005, making it years ahead of the "selfie" craze. I recently dug this image out of the archives to use for business cards, so it was fresh in my mind. Technically not the greatest image or scan, but it does show me, or at least my shadow, "enjoying my craft."

Why it's long, tall, Scott.  I do like the details in the foreground sand and the color change across the dune.

Wicked waves and lines on the dune. The long shadow makes it a "photographer's photograph". Love it!

Hey Scott no fair using stilts out there. Some really wonderful long extended shadows.....sad....It is a nice peaceful late afternoon sun setting scene also....laugh

I too have one of these type of selfies from JTNP as a sunrise scene from last year. Maybe I'll post it later.

Great shot. Some scanning artifacts, as you note, but creative and well-composed.
