Echidna

A flashback to my April adventures in Australia.  One of the wildlife highlights for me this year was spending a good chunk of time with a fascinating and cute short-beaked echidna, one of the only mammals on the planet that lays eggs.  It was very busy digging for bugs, which meant I had to spend a lot of time on my belly in an attempt to get a clear view of its face.

Thanks, Stephen.  Just to clarify, it was on a slope, I promise!  This isn't a case of me not fixing the rotation. enlightened

LOL Max, I took it as read it was on a slope, I just think it just works really well and creates a uniqueness. I also feel that the way the DoF has dropped off emphasis the cute nose, compared to having both nose and claw sharp, you just get a hint of what the front foot looks like. The viewer needs to see the larger version to see the finer detail and overall clarity.

Excellent details here, Max.  All of the dirt flecks speak well to it's lifestyle.
