My wife and I like to celebrate our anniversaries on the Oregon coast and one of our favorite places is Cook's Chasm just south of Yachats. Thor's Well is probably my favorite feature of the area although I have yet to come up with a result I'm completely satisfied with. This one comes close. Very dramatic, and powerful, Bill. I like the textures in the rock and the water cascading over it. I would like to see a little more detail the brightest whitewater. You might also consider cloning out the small rock on the bottom near the left corner--for some reason it grabs my eye. I like the hints of green in the water.

This telephoto image excellently portrays the fury of the wave action at this place, Bill. Nicely timed for the action as well, including the "waterfall' effect over the rocks. Well done.

Really nice.  I love the framing of all the little rivulets and the hint of the powerful flow in the upper part of the frame.

This has a lot of visual energy, Bill.  I like composition and you have just the right balance between detail and blur in the water.  I like the emerald color in the water at the top of the frame.  Nicely done!

Exciting dynamics of the mighty flow, well anchored by the rocks to my eye.

I just think about a bit more space at the bottom, but this is only a minor matter for me. I enjoy the image a lot as is.

Bill,

This is excellent!  I swear the thumbnail didn't come close to revealing what this was - I thought it was a mountain range - perhaps in Iceland.  So it was a great surprise when opening this up.

There is also a little mystery in scale.  You've captured the rise and fall of the waves beautifully here and the timing of the water over the rocks is perfect.  What is really unique for me is the crashing wave up top. for a moment, one could imagine that as clouds, a storm and certainly something much more powerful than the little cascades in the middle and bottom.  The combination of all this makes for a unique and wonderful image.

I might agree with a wish for more at the bottom, but that's pretty minor.

This seems to be a much tighter view of the formation.  Love the water action, though the lower portion of the foam seems to be a little blown out and lacking detail.  I do think a wider view does give a better feel for the wave action and natural features, though I'm sure it can be dependent on the tide level and other weather conditions.  A great area to be able to return to.
