It was hard to tell from my last post but I was actually shooting down the mountain side into the valley below.

Oh Shenandoah! Looks very much like the Shenandoah Mountains, all those russet colors. You've found a wonderful composition. The mist/fog elements add character to what could be otherwise another typical mountain view.

Very nice, Michael. I like the soft light very much. Yur composition works very well, and I love the color.
My only suggestion would be bring down the bright area of cloud in the upper right--it grabs my eye.
Nice image!

Another gorgeous image of this hillside, Michael. I like the colors and atmosphere. I'll second Preston's suggestion about the brighter clouds in the corners, but I find the brighter clouds and fog less eye-catching than in your previous post. I also like being able to see thru the clouds to the far hills. Excellent image.

This is a beauty, Michael. Great atmosphere to set off the rich foliage colors. I also suggest to bring the exposure down in the brightest areas of the clouds. I'd also clone out the one small branch protruding into the left center frame.

This Shenandoah image IMO is better than the previous one, although that one was really good. Aside from the highlight issue I think the mist needs greater tonal range if your going to dedicate so much space to it. The alternative is a crop off the top so that the land dominates and the sky plays a more subordinate role. That's my opinion.

Beautiful autumn landscape Michael. Ditto on the toning down the cloud, UR. I'm also liking Igor's thought of cropping some of the top; something to explore. Subtle, but I really like how the fog is present all the way through the scene, including hints in the front tree line.
Just looking at this and I get the distinct feeling a photographer would be having a field day.... Wish I was there!

Thanks to all for the suggestions I'm still a PS journeyyman, but I cloned out the branch, toned down the URC and tried to bring out a little more range in the clouds.

I love the richness of the autumn colors in this mountain scene, all topped off with the fleeting mist and cloud cover, Mike. The repost with the suggestions nailed it IMO. Was I there for that trip?

Beautiful colorful scene and good job on the repost. The fog is surreal and works really well. Sweet image.

Ooh now this is nice. I think I may know this spot if it's off Skyline Drive. When was this? I am guessing very late Oct this year (I didn't make the trip). I like how you grounded the shot in the tree in the LLC. I would try a strong contrast curve (i.e., dark dark, light lights) in some of the BG areas where the foliage is to see if you can coax some more out so the viewer can get a sense of what's past the fog. I would also be curious if you have other frames that give just a little more opening to the BG.

Navin, this was n 2010. I'm sure youve been to this spot cause there's a pulloff. I've included a shot where the clouds opened up a little and a bit of sun hit the valley below.
