Grizzly Bear, the water from mountains was very cool and swimming made the bears very frisky! It's breeding bear season and much activity as the females start to reach their breeding acceptance of the males.

Nikon D500, slight crop, Hand Held, while in the Zodiac boat rising with the tide, some bobbing from windswept gusts,
Nikon 200-400mm, VR F4, ACTIVE vr, TAKEN AT 465MM (D500 crop factor) 1/800, ISO 1,000, F5.6 , -.67 Meter compensation

Comment & Critique Appreciated.  When I submitted,.. the system never provided a larger version, ?  SORRY

Really liking this one, Bill. Wishing there was a larger image to enjoy. My only nit is that it seems a little tight. A little more room to breath would make this even better.

Hello Jerry..... Yes a larger version was desired but the system did not generate one & I do not know why?

The crop was intentional to avoid many distractions in the water.

Thanks for your comments,. very much appreciated.

Bill,
Always difficult from a Zodiac it is a pity that we have no large version, but nevertheless it looks good to me, although i would have preferred the bear slightly lower and a little more space on the leftdevil

Hi Bill,

Always fun to see and photograph swimming bears. I like the head-turn here...adds some nice dynamism to the image. For me the image is a bit on the dark side, with some of the shadows blocked up a bit too much (like in the front side of the left ear...where virtually all detail is gone).

Cheers...
