Fly Coyote Fly

This is also from early in Yellowstone. I took a long hike with heavy equipment in the snow to get close to a coyote. At some point I lost him and decided to walk back only to find him right behind me about to pounce. It was such a big leap that I managed a few frames even with my rather slow 6 fps. Oh and he missed!

Canon 5D3
EF 600mm F/4 II
F/5.6 1/3000s ISO 400 Slight Crop

Cheers,

Hisham.

devilYou make it sound like you got a lucky shot, but the photo shows that you were well prepared.  Nice to get the action stopped without overexposing the snowy background.  More than just luck I think enlightened

The image we all hope for!
Might be a little soft - hard to tell without a large image.
Great catch, at any rate!

Great timing.  This would make me smile if I achieved this pose.  Just an alternate thought, but how about experimenting with some other formats, perhaps testing if a vertical would accentuate the height of the jump?  Techs look excellent.

Awesome stop-action coyote leap you captured here Hisham!

Love that mid-air expression!

He may have missed, but you didn't.   I think you caught him just right.
