Wild Turkey Portrait

This was the first time I'd seen wild turkeys and I was happy to be able to get this close to one.  I darkened the background a little and also applied noise reduction to the background.

Canon 60D, Canon 70-300@300mm, f/16, 1/160, ISO 1600

I appreciate all comments and critiques.

Pretty amazing that you got this close to a wild turkey, Barb.  The few I've seen (except when driving) were running/flying away and still a long ways off.  This is a fine portrait, with great details in the head and neck.  The bit of foliage in front adds well to the setting.

Cool picture of this young male.  Fine detail on the skin, a bright eye, and pleasant BG.
Very nice  image!

Sweet image, Barb.  I like the head poking above the foreground vegetation.

Hi Barb,

I think your overall processing worked great.  This image has a special quality to it because of the pose and the sharpness of the subject. I like it--Good Workdevil............................Jim

Really nice pose, Barb, you were lucky to find such a willing model...sad.  Very nice detail and colors; background is blurred just enough to make him stand out but you still have a sense of habitat, especially with the foreground foliage in focus.

I like the leaves in the foreground of this shot, Barb. Shows that you captured this guy hiding in the brush. The portrait pose is excellent as is the detail.
