Thank you for your comments on my recent posting! Here is a wider view of the wonderful maple across the Merced River.

I had a devil of a time sharpening this one because of all the delicate detail. If you think it needs more work in this regard, please let me know, along with any suggestions you might have. I used TK's version 4 Web Sharpening action. Compression might be a factor, too.

Nikon D7100
Nikkor 18-140mm @ 20mm
1/10 second @ f-8, ISO 200
TK's Masks and some selective Burn/Dodge

Please see the large version. Thank you.

Your thoughts are always appreciated. cool

Beautiful Merced River scenic Mr. PB.  Hey, didn't you post this already? Or maybe it's just because I've seen this already. ;-)

Love this one. Beautifully processed too, no nits or suggestions here.  The water flow is perfect and I especially love the reflected yellows in the river waves.  The flowing texture at the bottom works much better in this wider view - because there's enough of it and it adds a nice element to the flowing river and overall scene.

Even though the big leaf maple is central, I like the overall balance and my eye gently explores the entire frame - corner to corner to corner, top to bottom and left to right...

Excellent-tay,

Lon

Gorgeous image, Preston. Lots of nice elements in this one to go with the focal yellow maple. Just a beautiful scene.

Nice all-around color exposure with good vibrancy and not overdone.  The water is perfect.

Very nice, Preston.  The yellows look a bit on the saturated side to my eye, but not way over the top. I really like the area of reflected color surrounded by river flow. Sweet take on the Merced in the fall.

Preston, Wow, This is so beautiful. I like your composition very much and love the colors in this scene. The water looks perfect as well and this scene is so very inviting for me. Makes me wish I was there! Wonderful work!

Vry nice comp with that yellow tree drawing so much attention.  Certainly a lot going on here, but it doesn't feel too busy.

The reflection in the water flow, then the little bits of orange/red back iin the trees....that's neat, and give this the feeling like you are there.
Sharpening looks fine to; all the processing looks good.  Nice combo of stillness and flowing water in both the composition and in how you exposed it.  Is that some moss on the tree with the yellow leaves?  Nice one.
