Iced Goldenrod

Three hours of freezing rain this morning left quite a coating of ice on everything.  This look is at part of the seed head of a white goldenrod with the refracted bits of green coming from the neighbor's lawn.  A seven image stack.  (5D3, 180mm macro L, 1/50s, f/10, iso 200, tripod)

Hi Mark, much more to this image than the thumbnail suggests enlightened ... The detail within the ice on the right is wonderful (a stack was definitely a good choice!) and the background the perfect compliment.  No changes to the image itself, a very slightly tighter crop would be my only possible suggestion ... Good shot!

Hey Mark,
Looks like one of those 'Good News / Bad News' situations . . .
Good news is you found this beauty of a composition, the ice looks like diamonds. Excellent job in post processing, very complimentary background and the large version is so very impressive.
Bad news is you've got a coating of ice on everything and can't get over to the Eagles.
Well seen and presented . . .  laugh

Love the jeweled look of this Mark. The golds and silvers and crystals are really nice against an excellent BG to show them off.

Golden tones inside the ice are just beautiful.  Very nice shapes and textures.  Beautiful background to go along with the whole project.

Ice storms can be gorgeous in their aftermath, Mark, though they do take a toll on things.  A beautiful image.  You chose just the right elements to include in the frame and the bg is wonderful.
