This one is from Ridgefield back in May.  I was hesitant to process an image with this pose due to all the black-on-black detail of the beak and face, but I finally decided it was worth a try.  Please let me know what you think.

7DII, Sigma 150-600 C @ 226 mm, beanbag on car window, f/6.3, 1/1600, iso 800, aperture priority, pattern metering, +1/3 EV.  Processed in LR5 & CS6.  Cropped to a 16 MP 4x5 before resizing.  Taken at 7:13 AM on May 5th, 2016.

Please view large.

Comments and criticisms are always appreciated.

Thanks,

A problem to expose correctly, at least for me. It is hard to judge in the small image, but the larger version shows some separation of detail on the dark side of the bird. I'd prefer more, and that might have been possible with some fill flash. But this is stil better than any red-wing I have in a similar pose.

He looks angry!  On my screen it looks a little bit bright but the pose is awesome! devil

Good job with the blacks on the head.  The beak really stands out well.
