Texas Bufflehead

My quest for a stellar Bufflehead flight image continues. It is now officially an obsession. This is better than some of my previous posts, but it is still not quite there in terms of IQ. Processed using Lightroom CC (2015) and Photoshop CC (2017) along with Light Craft's LightZone. Comments and critiques welcome.

Canon 1DX Mark II
Canon 200-400 f4 L IS

Hello Jerry,.. Nice separation from the background, and nice wings

Well done. This is a surprisingly tiny duck.

They are tiny and incredibly fast. Hence my struggles in obtaining a stellar image.

Love that rainbow effect on their heads Jerry. Nice job processing the Whites. Just a great flight capture.

I would be very happy with an image like that in my collection, Jerry.
Beaufitul bird, very nice wings position. What are those colors in bird's neck? So beautiful!

A very cool flight image of this species, regardless, Jerry.  Looks to me like the point of focus may have been on the wing, but it's hard to be sure.

I think this looks really good.  You're going to get some degradation from the tele-converter.  And as you say they fly really fast.  At least he was close enough to get good detail.  The males rarely come closer than hundred yards to my camera and most of the time there in the water not flying.  This year they have been a lot more scarce for some reason.

I can see why you would be obsessed.  Getting the bird coming toward you a little, instead of away is the challenge.  Nice one.devil
