Oahu

One of the pleasant experiences of 2016 was getting out of the Washington rains and spending a week, mostly on the beaches, in Oahu.  The only reason for choosing such a congested island was the Laysan Albatross colony on Kaena point, which we did manage to visit, though our first attempt was blocked by high surf.  This is on a beach between Makaha and the entrance to the Kaena point parking area looking toward the point on one of those days of fairly high surf.  I believe I may have posted it before.

5DIII, EF28-70 f/2.8L @ 70 mm, hand held, f/14, 1/500, iso 200, aperture priority, pattern metering.  Processed in LR5 & CS6.  Small crop for straightening and minimizing an oof foreground rock.

Comments are always appreciated.

Thanks,

All of the foam in the breaking surf is the star here, Dennis, but the rest of the scene, the foreground rocks and sand as well as the blue water and blue sky behind lend a strong sense of dynamics as they capture the energy of a fine ocean beach.

Excellent detail in the foam,  The layers of color are quite fine here extending through the image.
