Among the Teasels

This image was created at The Howell Nature Center in Michigan. Four times a year I lead a Raptor Model Shoot. It is a world-class opportunity to create some great images. All the birds are injured and used as wildlife ambassadors at schools and such. 100% of the proceeds from this event go to the Nature Center's rehab program which helps nearly 3,000 injured and orphaned animals each year. If you are within 400 miles it is worth the drive! More info

What a beautiful image. Everything (the pose, the perch, the in-focus and out-of-focus teasels, background, colors) seems spot on to me.

You chose a composition that is very pleasing to the eye.  The kestrel's position, the surrounding vegetation all work well together.  Very different from most avian posts and I like it!

Nice, Steve.  Sounds like a very worthy and worthwhile event.  If I hadn't moved from Holt to the west coast many, many years ago, I'd definitely be interested.

Very artistically posed and a nice job using the teasel to disguise the jesses.
