Eagle Missile

I just liked the unique perspective on this one. The golden band at the bottom is the late sun reflecting off the water (Mississippi River). The dark band at the top is the edge of the water on the far bank of the inlet. I already know that there will be suggestions to remove this dark band, but it was there and I decided to leave it in. Processed using Lightroom CC (2015) and Photoshop CC (2017) along with Light Craft's LightZone. Comments and critiques welcome.

I vote for the removal of the black line on the top.  Might even remove the water reflection on the bottom.  The eagle is tack sharp and this action shot of him in flight is perfect.  Great work!

Pretty cool, Jerry.  I really like the angle on the eagle with the eye just barely showing.

Nice photo of the eagle.  I enjoy the soaring images.  The visible eye makes the photo IMO

Hi Jerry
My compliments on this action shot – your anti-missile lock-on system worked to perfection. Yes, I expect I’m not the only one to have misgivings about that top dark band and the bottom one too. If I may make a suggestion, delete both, cut and paste more appropriate scenery.
Wish we had such splendid looking incoming missiles here in Switzerland!

Well Jerry, first of all of course I am jealous: we don't have that spectacular missiles over here. Then you captured it very well at what seems quite some speed ! And the bands, well that's a personal thing of course. If it were mine I may consider creating a whole high-key white BG - but a very nice shot as posted devil. Cheers, Hans

I think the discussions about the bands is great. To that end, here is the image without the top band.

Awesome photo Jerry, The eye makes me feel like he is locked on to me. The wind lifted feathers really gives a sense of motion and speed. Thanks for sharing.
