Another image from the day I spent at Valley of Fire SP during my SW trip last spring. The clouds brought some very nice light and color at sunset to complement the remarkable landscape in this area. D600, 24-85 @ 32, 1/6, f16, iso 200, gnds (HH), tripod. Thanks for viewing. Suggestions on processing and other comments appreciated.

Scott: I really like the colors in the very dramatic landscape and the colors in the clouds as well. The peaks are beautifully lit and are made more prominent by the fact that the base of the mountains are in shade. Well done. Richard

Excellent, Scott. The lighting and sky are gorgeous. I could also see this work well in a 16 x 9 crop, minimizing the foreground. Processing looks good but I think the highlights on the cliffs to the right could be dialed back a bit.

What a handsome picture of a beautiful place. II like everything about this. The sky is well done, and that's not that common. Right out of a 19th century oil landscape.

Impressive light and rock formations.  The yellow highlights in the clouds and rock look a little hot/oversaturated but just my taste in processing I guess.  Great sky to match the formations, especially the far right.

The light and color are wonderful, Scott!  I love the yellow, orange, and red on the mountains and I love the dramatic cloudy sky.

yep. It is lovely. It appears slightly soft to me, particularly foreground

Beautiful Scott.  One of my favorite places.  I agree with Dave's comments that the light on the cliffs top right are a bit hot but that's tough to tame the light from that angle.  The sky and shadows look just right to me. Nice.

Scott,

This is absolutely wonderful!  A grand scenic topped off by the beautiful, warm light and the terrific sky.

I do think Dave's comments have merit and I thought of cropping the foreground as well. But consider that an alternate and not necessarily an improvement.

What a gorgeous scene here, Scott. This site or area does not get near the posting many other iconic locales have, but still an amazing place IMO. I could see this one in a dramatic pano slice too.......laugh

This is awesome, Scott!  Beautiful light and color with a lot of interest throughout the frame.  I like the layering of the rocks from foreground to background.
