This one is from a couple of years ago at Ridgefield.  I think I have one with more frost, but can't seem to locate it.  I like the contrast of the warm morning light with the frost on the back of the Heron.

7Dii, 500 mm f/4L + 1.4 TC, beanbag on truck window, f/8 1/1600, iso 500, manual exposure.  Processed in LR5 & CS6.  I cloned out some vegetation above the head and in front of the beak.  Full frame.  Taken at Ridgefield NWR at 8:46 AM on December 31st, 2014.

Comments and criticisms are always appreciated.

Thanks,

Hi, Dennis, Why were you using manual exposure? Was it the TC? I like how the Heron is huddled and puffed up.

The warm light and the close up look at the heron make for a very strong image, Dennis.  The frost is "frosting" on the cake.
