Break Through

I captured this image at Bandon, Oregon two mights prior to capturing the previous posted image, "Morning Star." It was dark and rainy the whole time we were at Bandon. This was the last night and I wasn't even going to go out. But I ended up giving in to the temptation and went anyway. While I thought it was going to be a bust. The light burst through at the last minute and I got this!

D800,
24-70,

Thanks,
Chris

I'm glad you were there to capture this.  I like everything about this, especially the beautiful color palette, both in the sky and in the reflection.  Excellent comp as well!

As a side note I have really enjoyed seeing your photography here on NPN over the years.  It has been fun seeing the progression and growth of your photography in that time.

Chris, sorry for the irreverent thought here, but when I looked at the thumbnail, my first thought was someone finally got a good picture of the Loch Ness Monster.

Upon closer examinations, this is so pretty. Beautiful warm tones in the sunset, wonderful balance and composition. Nice details in the rocks. Great work on this.

Absolutely beautiful color Chris, especially the reflected color.  Well conceived and executed idea.  The only nit I can see if that stacks (or whatever they're called) have a slight halo around them, I assume from sharpening or opening up the shadows somewhat.

Very nice image,a beautiful reflection. The stacks look a little over processed though...I might look to silhouette them a bit more against that sunset sky.

A fine set of colors and reflections, Chris.  The colors set off the shapes of the sea stacks very well and shape mimicry with the clouds add a fine bit extra.

Hi Chris,

It is so awesome that you were able to get this image after so much rain, and it is a beautiful winner. I really enjoy the composition as the reflection on the glazed sand is sweet. The colors are gorgeous , and the sea stacks provide a lot of interest.

Beautiful work

Chris,

Classically Bandon, and classically beautiful.  Not much to be critical of here.  As an optional thought, you might consider cropping from the left to a more square-ish format which really brings the reflection and color more center stage. Just a thought.

The reflection of the yellow sky off the beach is very nice, as is the contrast of the yellow/orange with the blues.  Druthers would be to clone out the larger stone and its v-wake in the center of the beach.
