The Valdez, Alaska Small Boat Harbor at 3:10 PM. The mountains on the South side of the bay were lit up by the bright red sunset in the West.

Gary, I love the contrast shown in your image of the sun shining on the snow-covered mountain reflected into the icy water and that the reflection mimics the geometric outline of boats tied up in the marina. Very nice!

Love this!
Soft, subtle light and not over-saturated sunset.
The first boat is a little centered, but no other framing would have captured the light on the mountains as well.
Very unusual to see snow on boats and ice in the harbor near them, unless you have lived there., so a unique image
Just excellent!  devil

That's gorgeous, Gary.  That reflection is super, and the ice chunks in the FG seem to mirror the shape of the boats and mountain. Just lovely.
When I look at this, I shudder to think about having a boat in the water with all the snow you guys get over there. (Aren't you glad the days are getting longer??!!)
The more I look at this, the more I like it.  devil  devil

Gary, I thought I comment on this but sure don't see it here. I must have forgot to click on the Add Comment or something. Anyway, I like this picture very much. You did such a nice job with the composition framing the boats with the reflection of the mountains. The large version is especially nice and you certainly captured a wonderful feel of this place.

Gary: this one definitely elicited a Wow! from me when I saw it. The icy blue tones, the snowcapped, warmly lit mountain and its reflection are a treat to see. Richard

This is chilling just looking at it. What a wonderful study in whites Gary. The warmer tones of the sun on the mountain give a nice sense of hope for a new tomorrow.
