This is another from my sojourn to Yosemite last week. It is a little different look at Yosemite Falls.
Please have a look at the large version. It does not translate well in the small.

Wow, Harley! This is a home run! There is so much to enjoy with this from the ice in the foreground to the middle ground trees contrasted with the fog layer and then finally the snowy mountains with just a hint of the falls peeking through the clouds. This has such wonderful mood and resonates to me with a stillness that makes me want to linger despite the obvious cold. What a scene to enjoy!

This is pure magic to me. Wonderful with ice tiles and the fog enshrouded top. Well done.

Mr. H--
This is excellent. The mood is wonderful. I love the ice plates and the light covering of snow. Just a thought, but you might look into darkening the deeper blacks just a tiny bit. Also, there is a clump of snow on one of the ice plates in the lower left quadrant that has a dark spot that grabs my eye. I like that you were able to retain detail in the snow in the meadow.
A fine image that needs to be seen large!

Mr. H.,
It's amazing what a little fog, mist and atmosphere can do to render such an iconic location in to a special and unique image. this is terrific. Great job with the b&w.
How did you manage to not get any cars or people?
Also, am wondering if you got any more intimate images of just the broken up chunks of ice. That's some cool stuff.

This is just superb, Harley. I love the way the image starts out with the FG ice plates; then takes the viewer to the valley trees; then the granite walls and waterfall before disappearing in the fog. The processing is perfect as are the layers in this winter wonderland.

Harley, this is great!! The sharp diagonals on the ice in the FG contrast with the foggy mountains and trees in the distance. It's a gorgeous composition, and you handled the processing really well. Bravo

Wow, this is a really fine image, Harley. I've never seen the Merced with these ice blocks. I would either a) create more separation between the waterfall ridge line and the sky by some dodging/burning or b) crop off the sky to just above the top of the falls. Option b looks pretty good to me but I'm always amazed what AA was able to achieve with his tunnel view image with thoughtful dodging and burning. I think it really is a wonderful image and wish I had been there to see it.

I love the mystery of not quite seeing clearly the mountain and falls. Wonderful job converting to black and white. The ice sheets are a surprise and unique.
Well Done! +++

This is magical. All the layers of interest is a feast for the eyes. Works beautifully in B&W simplifying the comp.

I agree with all the comments made. Love this image. I was there just before the water rose. I should have stayed. Was already soggy.

Wow, Harley, home run for sure. Love the ice patterns, the fog, the framing, everything perfectly in it's place. Outstanding my friend. The only thing I could suggest is to crop/clone the sliver of ice bottom right. This image was worth the whole trip.

Great image, Harley. It seems made on purpose for black and white. Each pixel is very interesting and each layer is amazingly separated from the other in terms of tone and light. Congrats to you and to the nature! :)

WOW!!! Perhaps the best Yosemite image I have ever seen Harley! I wouldn't do a thing to this; it is perfect as is. The empty FG makes the mountains look even more massive and the fog gives it a great sense of mystery. Even the large version doesn't do it justice. Minimum size for this should be 48" wide, and hang it proudly.

Just Love this - majestic - so many elements, patterns, and layers to get lost in - this deserves to be framed on a wall.
