I like this!  To me it is showing a bison in some what of a different pose.  I like the head turn as you have caught it.  Maybe just a bit more room in front of the bison's head.  Good detail in the bison's coat.  thanks for sharing.

Gerald,
What a wonderful pose, especially the catch light.
Looks to be a little soft and have a slight magenta castdevil

Hi Gerald,

Different and interesting - and I definitely like the low POV. I'm not really seeing the magenta cast that Ken is referring to. I do agree with John re: the image possible being more appealing if there was less room on the left side of the frame and more on the right side - as presented the bison looks to be a little too clearly looking "out" of the frame, if you know what I mean.

Thanks for sharing this one...cheers...

Very nice image...a different pose. Light and detail are excellent.
I agree with less room on the left, and more on the right. It would be easy to add canvas on the right, with the "content-aware" tool in Photoshop.
Maybe it's just the perspective, but the animal seems very very thin to me.
Fine work!

Nice portrait Gerald. Your color and details in the larger version are really good. It looks wistful for the days of old when there were millions of bison roaming free on the plains. It also reminds me of a scary episode while my wife and I were out hiking in the Teddy Roosevelt Badlands in North Dakota a few years back with a cranky bull coming our way while we were out in the wide open grasslands.

A very interesting point of view, Gerald. It does look a little skinny and tired.  I agree that since it was looking to the photographer's right, a little more room on that side would have been nice.  I see a slight magenta cast also but then I haven't seen very many bison in my life so I have no idea what the typical color of their fur would be.
