I happened to spot this bouquet of volunteer crocuses popping out of the desiccated oak and maple leaves and just had to photograph it.

Canon 7d Mark II
17-40 mm lens at 40 mm
ISO 100
1/125 at f7.1

Thanks for looking.  Comments and suggestions are appreciated.

Gorgeous array of colour, Allen, and I like the setting of the light brown leaves to set the flowers off.  Lots of nice detail for the eye to feed on !!

Allen: What a great find and a superb capture. We don't get crocus here so I always enjoy it when folks post them in the spring. Many kudos.>=))>

Wonderful grouping of crocus.  The surrounding leaves complement the colors and tell the story of spring.  We've had a particularly hard winter and  I would be delighted to see the crocus flowers announcing spring's arrival.  Thanks for posting this.

I like the beautiful contrasting colors and subjects in the very nice light, Allen. I especially like the way the color in the centers of the crocuses coordinate with the fall leaves. Nice find and an excellent image.

A lovely bunch of crocuses, Allen.  The light on the left side of the image does tend to pull my eye out of the frame.  If they're still going and you can get them fully shaded, I think it would look even better.  I love the dof with the contrast it makes between the soft petals of the crocuses and the crisp leaves underneath.

Full of life and happiness! Nice contrast between dead leaves and fresh flowers, lots of details to explore in the larger photo and the bee at two o’clock is a fine addition. It would be even better, in my opinion, with a bit more room all around. Very nice work!

I'm a little late to the table here, so I will content myself with agreeing with everyone else. This took a photographer's eye. Very well framed and balanced with a solid message.

Great find - love the profusion of flowers (one usually sees crocuses in a boring straight line in a garden), the lavender colour, and the orangey leaves that echo theorange centers of the crocus.
Very fine WP!
