This is another image from my January Yosemite adventure. This was the morning after (and sometimes the morning of) the big snow.

Harley: Love the hint of mountain in the BG and its looming presence. Beautiful image. >=))>

Very moody, sir. The barely visible wall in the background adds a nice dimension. I love the snow on the oaks. Works for me.

This image is loaded with mystery and intrigue.  I like how the fog isolates the sheer triangular peak in the background making it appear to rise up abruptly from the surrounding landscape as if it were not connected to any of the other mountains.  This makes it feel even more imposing somehow.

Really sweet, Harley.  Love the looming peak and the high key nature of the image. The dark trunks of the trees provide a wonderful counterbalance to all of the white.  Outstanding.

Harley,

The thumbnail wasn't getting me excited, but your title "Almost Hidden" clued me in very quickly and I KNEW before opening this, that I would be expecting a very obscured view of the valley walls - in this case Cathedral Peak.  Opening this completely changed my preconceived opinion just looking at the thumbnail.

The barely visible peak makes this image for me.  Ahhh, they dynamics of Yosemite Valley.  Beautifully captured.

The only suggestion I have is a crop.  The peak is key for me.  I'm wondering though with the created empty space in the upper right and left, what a slight crop from the sides may do.  The tree line is wonderful as well, but for me the peak is the bigger story.

Your mileage may vary.

There's a monster lurking in the background, Harley.  The snowy foreground trees are great and that lurking presence behind with the subtle details on the left creates a fine sense of being there in a storm (which is something that I enjoy).

for some reason this reminded me of Indiana Jones movie start scene. And that is a good thing. ;) Well seen and executed.

Feels like the shark just below the surface - you know it's there but just can't see it all.  Nice high key image.  Nice detail in the trees, not sure if there was any detail to pull in in the FG snow.  Not critical as the areas that need detail have it.  Great timing for the snows out there. When haven't there been big snow this year!

The subtle ghostly silhouette makes for a powerful focal point despite being barely visible.
