Caught in the Downfall

The Little Colorado River flows periodically over Grand Falls when there is significant snowmelt or summer rain.  It carries plenty of sediment and probably some of the color is due to that from the Painted Desert.  While it does not look it, Grand Falls is actually a few feet higher than Niagara Falls.

I like the dynamism of this, Doug. The silt-laden water is a perfect compliment to the foreground rock, and the warm tones work very nicely. The detail and processing look great to me.

Doug,

Fantastic!  Love the diversity of the warm colors throughout.  The flowing water is dynamic, yet graceful.

Love this! No nits or suggestions.

Beautiful, love the colors, motion and layered rock that the water is carving and has come from. Perfect intimate landscape, to my eyes.

Doug, what a wonderful close-up scene here. This has that southwestern look to this cascading water. The all around color has that telltale UT-AZ look to it. This composition is perfect and I see no need for changes.......cool

I like the contrasting textures between the rock and the water.  The comp works well also, with the rock forming an opposing diagonal to the lines in the water.

Cool. The vibrant colors and the movement of the water really work together in this.  It's a simple composition, but a good one, and the detail is excellent.  The color in the water is almost surreal.  Nice one.

Beautiful initimate image, Doug. Usually the muddy water is not that attractive, but it looks great in this close up. Well composed and taken.

I like the contrast between the sweep of the stone coming in for the right against the flowing water, Doug.  The colors in the water a good also and your ss choice adds a fine sense of movement.

Hi Doug,

I very much like this image for a few reasons. One, the warm tones really move me, and this image has a wonderful warmth about it, Two, the soft texture of the water against the solidity of the rock are very engaging. and Finally, the composition really brings all the elements together to create an intimate scene with some nice depth to it.

Wonderful stuff
