Tree Frog Escape Plan

This is another from 2010 in Lafitte, shot at minimum focus about 4 feet away.  It's always satisfying for me to get nice light and calm conditions for these guys.  I was able to frame this with calm conditions in nice light, and to get good focus on the frog.  To quote Audubon's "When fleeing a predator in the trees, it takes gangly leaps into space."  Although in this lush swamp environment, I suspect this guy already had an escape plan should I intrude.

E-3 ZD50-200 @200, Manfrotto head on carbon tripod, ISO 100 1/80 f5.0 0.0EV, 2 sec delay & MLU, full frame 4/3rds image.

Love the "peeping out" pose here, Bill, as well as all the gentle green tones.  Your comp. does a great job of creating the sense that this little one will leap away at any second.

I like the way we see the head of the frog and most of its body only as a shadow. Also the fingers an toes by which it holds itself attached to the leaf. Good choice imho to only have most of the front leaf and the head of the frog in focus. Lots of space for a jump. Still I would suggest a slight crop, left, right and below to 1) get rid of the light band on the right and 2) to put the frog a bit more in the llc. Any way it is a great catch and I like very much.

Another fine image of this cute little guy, Bill. Like Igor, I like the being able to see the shadow of the frog's body, and I like the look of the feet gripping the perch. Excellent.

Great detail where it needs to be Bill. Again, love the look. It's not easy being green....
