The  less exciting part of ice climbing; belaying.  Taken in Keystone Canyon, Valdez, Alaska.

A subset of my previous post, for those who wanted to see close-ups of the interesting ice formations that I call "hoodies".

The climbing may be less exciting, but the formations are great, with all of those overhanging caves and large icicles.  I also really like the touch of turquoise in the ice.

Ice climbing is a very hardy sport, Gary.  Kinda like fly fishing in the winter.  Lot's of folks don't get the attraction.  Love all the details in the ice.  Looks like a great place to dig in your crampons.
