Winter Great Horned Owl

This image was created at The Howell Nature Center in Michigan. Four times a year I lead a Raptor Model Shoot. It is a world-class opportunity to create some great images. All the birds are injured and used as wildlife ambassadors at schools and such. 100% of the proceeds from this event go to the Nature Center's rehab program which helps nearly 3,000 injured and orphaned animals each year. If you are within 400 miles it is worth the drive! More info

What a beautiful image. The red berries add so much, as does the snow. Plus the holes that a woodpecker has made in the tree trunk. Just perfect IMO. It's wonderful that you donate to your local rehab center and I wish I lived closer (way more than 400 miles).

This is sooooo good Steve. The detail in the large version coupled with the wonderful soft colors and all of the added features of berries, tree, extraordinarily well framed owl. Doesn't get any better than this.

Beautiful image, Steve.  The setting is wonderful.  Rehab centers need all the help they can get.
